Canoeing

Canoeing in and around Monmouth is a popular pastime, below are some of the great places you could visit.


The Wye can be canoed throughout the year from the tiny village of Glasbury above historic Hay down to the castle town of Chepstow where the river flows into the Bristol Channel, a total of 100 miles in all. It is also a popular river with canoeists due to the relatively slow flowing water, making it good for beginners. The Symonds Yat Rapids are more challenging
